Hey all! Here is the Blog I promised. Sorry this has taken this long – poor internet connections! These are photos of Graceland, in all it’s gawdy glory. I gotta tell ya, for what I paid for entrance, parking and merchandise, it is NOT worth the price! So, you can enjoy it vicariously through me. First, they give you an Ipad with headphones for a guided informational tour. My guide was John Stamos. I feel so special! Upstairs was off limits, which is too bad, because I wanted to see the toilet where he kicked it. Please let me know if you have any questions…
The Living Room with the custom 15-foot couch. My kinda couch.
The parent’s bedroom. When both of his parent’s passed, this became his grandmother, Minnie Mae Presley’s bedroom. She passed in 1980, outliving her son and grandson. This is a Master Suite just off the Living Room.
The Formal Dining Room:
The lovely Kitchen, where peanut butter and nanner sandwiches were made.
The Jungle Room, aka the Den.
The TV Room, where he famously shot one of the TV’s with a pistol. Like the color scheme?
The TV Room wet bar.
The Billiard Room.
The back yard. They didn’t have central air. You’d think that with all of his money, he’d pop for that.
Vernon Presley’s Office in a separate building.
Honorary Police credentials; “Elvis was a Narc, a-wearin’ rhinestones after dark.”
His racquetball court and lounge. There was a piano here and in other places throughout Graceland, so he could make music anywhere.
The Meditation Garden, where the family graves are.
The kidney-shaped pool.
He had a lot of cars and other vehicles. These are just a few.
And the airplanes… I paid extra for this.
That’s it! I gotta say this: Graceland is a highly monetized attraction. There are gift shops and restaurants everywhere within the complex. The good thing about this place: it creates a lot of jobs for people.
Hope you enjoyed it!
